Redskins Player and Windsor High School Alum Encourages Literacy and Gives Back to Former Schools
The Chris Baker 92 Foundation has partnered with the Women’s Athletic Initiative Inc. to donate 2000 brand new books, grades K-12, to Windsor Public Schools. Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke along with Windsor Mayor Donald Trinks accepted the donation on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Windsor High School on behalf of the Chris Baker 92 Foundation and the Women’s Athletic Initiative Inc. These books are being distributed to Windsor schools as incentives to students.
“We are very thankful to the Women’s Athletic Initiative for the donation of 2,000 books,” said Windsor Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke. Our partnership with the Chris Baker 92 Foundation grows each year to the great benefit of our students. It is great to have such successful and supportive alumni that are committed to serving the students of Windsor.”
Chris Baker is a Windsor High alum and a defensive lineman for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL).
The mission of the Chris Baker 92 Foundation is to engage and mentor boys and girls in a literacy program, football camps and mentorship programs to assist in developing life skills and values empowering them to successfully recognize and reach their full potentials.
